Feel Good. Move Well. Look Great!
A caring, attentive personal trainer
My professional fitness journey is different than other personal trainers. Instead of stacking certifications and being told what I need to know to help my clients, I have stacked experiences and learned first-hand what my clients need. I have worked with health professionals from various fields and paid close attention to what they said and how they helped their clients/patients. My method is simple and efficient. My program design slogan is "less is more." What's the least we need to do to get the best results? The answer would surprise you.
My story, experiences, and certifications
I moved to the mountains of Northern China in 2005 to study Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Chi Gong. So began my professional fitness journey. While living in China, I spent a lot of time recovering from injuries I incurred there through improper kung-fu instruction. With the nearest doctor an hour away, I spent a lot of my recovery time reading books about sports injuries, physical rehabilitation, and the field of kinesiology, which is the study of physical movement.
When I returned to the U.S., I graduated from college in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, specializing in exercise physiology, sports nutrition and wellness. During my senior year, I began sharing my knowledge through personal fitness training and teaching yoga.
I’ve struggled with controlling my weight my entire adult life. So I began my training career helping others to overcome their issues with weight loss. As my business grew and my clientele developed, I began applying my fitness training to help people recover from injuries, as well as offering fitness training for seniors.
With a great capability to work with seniors, I quickly took the position of fitness manager at Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, California, northern California’s largest community for active senior adults. For three years, my clientele consisted entirely of seniors who wanted to improve their lives through fitness training. During this time, I never had a dull client. Each person had any number of physical limitations or disabilities, diseases, and medical conditions. I learned to rehab injuries, prepare bodies for surgery, overcome osteoporosis, decrease pain from arthritis, and I was even able to successfully deliver CPR to resuscitate a man that had just had a heart attack. He received six extra months to be with his family.
